TANCET-2025 is intended for admissions to MBA, MCA, ME/M.Tech, M.Arch, M.Plan for the academic year 2025/25. Candidates appearing for the TANCET 2025 examination will have to correctly answer multiple-choice questions of one mark each. Candidates can find the full syllabus of TANCET 2025 below.
Course-wise brief details of the syllabus are furnished hereunder.
This exam has 4 (four) Sections. They are (1) Quantitative Ability (2) Analytical Reasoning (3) Logical Reasoning (4) Computer Awareness. The major topics of each Section are furnished below:
a) Quantitative Ability:
Number System, HCF LCM, Percentages, Ratios, Averages, Simple & Compound Interest, Profit & Loss, Time Speed & Distance, Time & Work, Mixtures & Allegations, Quadratic Equations, Linear Equations, Logarithms, Series and Progressions, Binomial Theorem, Surds & Indices, Functions, Inequalities, Modulus, Geometry, Mensuration, Trigonometry, Co-ordinate Geometry, Permutation & Combination, Probability, Set Theory.
b) Analytical Reasoning:
Syllogisms, Ranking & Time Sequence, Analogy & Data Sufficiency, Alphabet & Eligibility Test, Number Sequence, Coded-inequality, Blood Relations.
c) Logical Reasoning:
Blood relations, coding-decoding, direction test, seating arrangement, puzzles, input-output, syllogism, alphanumeric series, mirror images, statements, and conclusions/arguments.
d) Computer Awareness:
Computer Hardware, Controls, Basic Terminology, Internet & Protocols, Network Basics, Computer Abbreviations, Security Tools, Shortcuts, History of Computer, Memory, Computer Organization, Input-Output tools, Computer Architecture, Languages, and Algorithms.
There are 5 (five) Sections in the above Examination. (1) Business Analysis, (2) Reading Comprehension, (3) Verbal Ability, (4) Quantitative Aptitude, and (5) Data Sufficiency.
a) Business Analysis:
Data must be identified from a typical business situation and this data must be used to evaluate business decisions. A passage containing a business situation will be given and this will be followed by various decision items based on the passage. 5 types of classifying the decisions will also be listed. Classification of the decision items under one of the categories must be done. This classification must be relevant to the passage.
b) Reading Comprehension:
In this section, Passages followed by questions will be given. Candidates are required to choose right answers.
c) Verbal Ability:
English usage, grammar, errors in usage, punctuation, spotting the error in a given sentence.
d) Quantitative Aptitude:
Mathematical problems of graduate level including those learnt at plus two level will be given in this section. Calculus, Theoretical Geometry, Shares and Debentures are some of the areas tested in this section.
e) Data Sufficiency:
A question followed by two pieces of information will be given. The answer must be based on whether the information given is sufficient to answer the question. This is like Data sufficiency questions given in CAT.
This examination is divided into 3 (three) Papers. They are:
Paper I: Engineering Mathematics - Compulsory for all
Paper II: Basic Engineering and Sciences - Compulsory for all
Paper III: Engineering discipline - Chosen by the candidate
