The GPAT (Graduate Pharmacy Aptitude Test) is a national-level entrance examination which is conducted for aspirants seeking admission into postgraduate pharmacy programs across India. GPAT 2026 – Online Registration:

GPAT is conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA). This exam is for those aspirants who are seeking admission to the following programs listed below.

  • 2-year full-time PG program at various colleges and universities accepting GPAT
  • Candidates can pursue 2-year full time PG programs in M. Pharm and also 3 – 5 years of PhD program.

GPAT 2026 Notification:

GPAT 2026 notification will be available in the 4th week of February 2026 following with the online application submissions starting in the 1st week of April 2026. The last date for the submission of online applications is 3rd week April 2026 (with fee)GPAT exam will be conducted between 4th week of May 2026 although the official dates are yet to be released by the authorities.

GPAT 2026 Application Form:

  • The GPAT 2026 application form will be available online on the official exam website.
  • Candidates need to register by providing a valid email ID, mobile number, and personal details.
  • Uploading scanned copies of a recent photograph and signature in the specified format is mandatory for all the candidates appearing for this exam.
  • Candidates are required to fill in academic qualifications and select their preferred exam center.
  • The application fee must be paid online using debit/credit card, net banking, or UPI.
  • After submission, candidates should download and print the confirmation page for future reference.
  • It is important for every candidate to check eligibility criteria before applying, as incomplete or incorrect forms may be rejected.

GPAT 2026 Application Process:

Requirements:

  1. Candidates must have a valid email id and phone number for ease of communication.
  2. Candidates will be required to provide their personal and academic details.
  3. Candidates need to upload their scanned images of a recent passport-size photograph and signature in JPEG/JPG format.

Steps to Apply for GPAT 2026:

Online Mode:

  • Candidates need to visit the official GPAT website – natboard.edu.in or gpat.nta.nic.in.
  • Candidates need to register with their name, mobile number, and email ID to generate an application number and password.
  • Candidates will then be required to login using the generated credentials.
  • Fill in personal, academic, and contact details as required.
  • Upload scanned images of the photograph and signature in the specified format.
  • Candidates will then be required to pay the application fee online.
  • After submitting the application form candidates need to take multiple printouts for future references.

GPAT 2026 Eligibility Criteria:

  • Year Post Graduate Program (M. Pharm/) and 3 – 5 Years of PhD Program:
  • Only Indian citizens are eligible to apply.
  • Candidates must have a 4-year Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy (B. Pharm) from a recognized university. This also includes candidates who have joined through lateral entry.
  • Candidates appearing in the final year of their B. Pharm degree are also eligible, provided their results are declared before the commencement of admissions for the academic year.
  • Candidates with a B. Tech degree in Pharmaceutical and Fine Chemical Technology or equivalent will not be eligible to apply.
  • There is no age limit for candidates appearing in GPAT 2026.
  • There is no restriction on the number of attempts as candidates are free to appear for the exam as many times as they want.
  • Reservation policies for candidates are applicable as per government norms—SC (15%), ST (7.5%), OBC-NCL (27%), EWS (10%), and PwD (5%).
  • Candidates with specified disabilities are eligible to apply, as per the list recognized by the exam authority.

GPAT 2026 Exam Pattern:

  1. The exam will be conducted in an online computer – based mode.
  2. The exam will consist of 125 questions and will be in MCQ (Multiple-Choice-Questions) format.
  3. The exam will be of 500 marks in total.
  4. The exam will consist of five sections – Pharmaceutical Chemistry & Allied Subjects, Pharmaceutics & Allied Subjects, Pharmacognosy & Allied Subjects, Pharmacology & Allied Subjects, and Other Subjects of B. Pharm Course.
  5. The duration for the test will be of 3 hours (180 minutes).
  6. There will be a negative marking for any incorrect answers -1 will be deducted and 4 marks will be given for each correct answer.
  7. The medium of language will be in English only.

GPAT 2026 Admit Card:

  1. Candidates will be provided with admit cards for the GPAT 2026 exam during the 3rd week of May 2026.
  2. Admit card is mandatory without which no candidate will be allowed to appear for the exam.
  3. Candidates will be able to download their hall tickets/admit cards from the official website – edu.in or gpat.nta.nic.in.

Scholarship Details:

The GPAT Scholarship is a financial assistance program offered by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) for candidates who qualify the Graduate Pharmacy Aptitude Test (GPAT) and take admission in M. Pharm courses at AICTE-approved institutions.

Following is the list of some of the details of the GPAT Scholarship for students:

  • Monthly stipend:INR 12,400, provided for up to 24 months or the official duration of the course, whichever is shorter.

Eligibility criteria:

  • Must have a valid GPAT 2026 scorecard at the time of admission.
  • Must be a full-time first-year M. Pharm student in an AICTE-approved institution.
  • Must not receive any other financial assistance or scholarship during the course.
  • Only Indian nationals are eligible; foreign, sponsored, or management quota students are not eligible.

Additional requirements:

  • Students must dedicate 8–10 hours per week to teaching and research activities as assigned by their institute.
  • Satisfactory academic performance and adherence to institute rules are mandatory.
  • Misconduct or withdrawal from the course may result in discontinuation and reimbursement of the scholarship.

Application process: 

  • Candidates must upload documents such as the GPAT scorecard, bank passbook, Aadhaar card, and relevant caste certificates during the application.
  • The scholarship aims to reduce financial burden by covering tuition fees, living expenses, and other educational costs, enabling students to focus on academics and research.

GPAT 2026 Results:

GPAT 2026 results will be announced by the National Testing Agency (NTA) in the 4th week of June 2026, i.e. after one month of the GPAT 2026 exam conducted in the 4th week of May 2026.

Candidates will be provided with preliminary answer keys in the 4th week of May 2026. Unlike other entrance exams, candidates appearing in GPAT 2026 will not be able to challenge the answer keys.

GPAT 2026 Selection Process:

  • The GPAT 2026 result will be announced in the form of a scorecard, which candidates can download online from the official website.
  • A merit list displaying the overall rank (All India Rank) of candidates based on their GPAT scores will be published. This list determines eligibility for the next stages.
  • The official GPAT cut-off scores will be released category-wise. Candidates must meet or exceed the cut-off to qualify for further admission processes.
  • Qualified candidates must apply separately to their preferred participating institutes, as each institute conducts its own admission and counselling process.
  • Eligible candidates register for counselling at the respective institutes, fill in their choices for courses and colleges, and lock their preferences online.
  • Institutes allot seats based on the merit list, candidates’ preferences, and reservation criteria. The seat allotment order is published online, and candidates can download it for reference.
  • Candidates must report to the allotted institute with all original documents for verification and pay the admission fee to secure their seat.

GPAT 2026 Instructions:

  1. Candidates should upload their photograph and signature with the preferred size in the portal which should be clearly visible.
  2. Candidates need to carry their admit card/hall ticket to the exam centre. Candidates will be prohibited from entering the exam hall without this document.
  3. Candidates will also be required to carry a valid ID proof such as – Voter ID Card/ Aadhaar Card/ PAN Card/ Driving License, etc.
  4. It is advisable for all candidates to enter the designated exam hall before time for a smooth security process before the beginning of exam.
  5. Any candidate violating the rules will be strictly dealt as per the norms of the exam centre.
  6. Any candidate pursuing any unfair means in the exam hall will be dealt with as per the rules and regulations of the test centre.

Q1. Can I take the test from any computer?

Ans. NO.  The candidate will have to take the test on the pre-assigned computer at the test center only.

Q2. Is there any age restriction for appearing in GPAT 2026?

Ans. NO. There is no age restriction for appearing in GPAT 2026.

Q3. How to pay my registration fee?

Ans. Candidates are required to pay the fee online or challan/cash at any SBI branch.

Q4. Can I choose a test city?

Ans. Yes. Candidates can choose up to 3 test cities as their preference. However, actual allotment will be subject to the availability of the slot in that particular city.
