The IISER Aptitude Test 2025 (IAT) is a national-level exam for admission to the Indian Institutes of Science Education and Research (IISER). The IISER 2025 exam covers both four-year BS degree programmes and five-year BS-MS dual degree programmes. The IAT is conducted by the Indian Institutes of Science Education and Research (IISER), which oversees the admissions process for its various programs.

The IAT will be conducted in an online format as a computer-based test. The examination will consist of multiple-choice questions (MCQs) covering four main subjects- Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and Biology.

To be eligible for the IAT 2025, candidates must meet the necessary requirements- Candidates must be Indian nationals, or hold a Person of Indian Origin (PIO) or Overseas Citizenship of India (OCI) status, Candidates should have completed their Class 12th from a recognized board with a focus on Science subjects (Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, and Biology) with minimum aggregate of 60% for general category and 55% for SC/ST Category.

IAT 2025 Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for the IISER Aptitude Test (IAT) 2025, candidates must meet the following criteria:

  1. Nationality
  • Candidates must be Indian nationals, or hold a Person of Indian Origin (PIO) or Overseas Citizenship of India (OCI) status.
  1. Educational Qualification
  • Candidates must have passed the Class 12 (or equivalent) examination from a recognized board.
  1. Subject Requirements
  • Candidates must have studied at least three subjects from the following during their Class 12:
    • Biology
    • Chemistry
    • Physics
    • Mathematics
  1. Minimum Marks Requirement
  • Candidates belonging to the general category must secure a minimum of 60% marks in aggregate.
  • Candidates from SC/ST/PwD categories are required to score at least 55% marks in aggregate.
  1. Appearing Candidates
  • Candidates who are currently appearing for their Class 12 examinations in 2025 are also eligible to apply, provided they meet the educational qualifications by the time of admission.

The IISER 2025 application form will be released in the first week of April 2025. Applicants will be able to fill the registration form through online mode. The application process for the IISER Aptitude Test (IAT) 2025 involves several steps that candidates must follow to successfully submit their applications. Step 1: Registration

  • After submitting, you will receive a registration ID and password.

Step 2: Fill the Application Form

  • Log in using your registration credentials.
  • Complete the application form by providing educational qualifications, including subjects taken in Class 12

Step 3: Upload Documents

  • Upload scanned copies of required documents:
    • Class 12 mark sheet
    • Recent passport-sized photograph
    • Signature
    • Category certificate (if applicable).

Step 4: Pay the Application Fee

  • Pay the application fee online through debit/credit card or net banking. The fee structure is as follows:
    • General/EWS/OBC candidates: ?2,000 + transaction fee
    • SC/ST/PwD candidates: ?1,000 + transaction fee.

Step 5: Submit the Application Form

  • Review all details carefully before submitting.
  • After submission, download and print a copy of the application form for future reference.

IAT 2025 Admit card

The IISER admit card for 2025 is scheduled to be released in the first week of June 2025. Applicants can download it online from the official website. To access the hall ticket, students must enter their login credentials, including the application number and date of birth.

The hall ticket will include crucial details such as the candidate's name, exam venue, roll number, and instructions. It is mandatory for students to bring the admit card on the exam day. Candidates without a valid hall ticket will not be permitted to take the exam.
