The Tamil Nadu Engineering Admissions (TNEA) is the admissions procedure for the state's undergraduate engineering programs. Every year, Anna University will host the TNEA 2024 Admission Procedure. Every year, an admissions process is held at the state level. For those looking to enroll in undergraduate engineering programs at different Tamil Nadu colleges, the TNEA exam is administered. 

The second week of June 2024 will see the issuance of the notification for the online registration form for engineers. Beginning in the third week of June 2024, candidates will be able to begin completing the application. The application for TNEA 2024 must be completed by the last week of July 2024.

TNEA  2024 Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for admission, candidates must meet all TNEA 2024 eligibility requirements by the application deadline. Candidates can verify their full eligibility in this part in order to be considered for admission to the university and any connected institutes.

Nativity Criteria:

  • Those who completed their VIII, IX, X, XI, and XII standards in the state of Tamil Nadu are qualified to apply. The certificate of nativity does not need to be enclosed.
  • Applicants who studied for their comparable exams (VII, IX, X, XI, and XII) outside of Tamil Nadu state are also welcome to apply. Such candidates must include a copy of their electronically signed or digitized version of their birth certificate.
  • Relatives of Central Government Workers may also apply, regardless of their nationality. At the time of application submission, they had been serving in Tamil Nadu for five years, if their parents were still living, or through guardians. In this situation, candidates must include the parent or guardian's employer's certificate.
  • Regardless of where they now reside, children of public sector or government-recognized institution employees who have worked in TN for five years may also apply. In this instance, candidates must submit supporting documentation, such as PF Slips and an income tax return.
  • Application is also open to sons and daughters of Tamil Nadu cadre officers in the All India Service.

Refugee Tamil from Sri Lanka:

Applicants who studied in Tamil Nadu and are Sri Lankan Tamil refugees are welcome to apply; their applications will be evaluated in an open competition. The following documents must be enclosed:

  • identification certificate from the Tahsildar Head Quarters.
  • Individuals who have not registered under the refugee camp must send a copy of their visa, passport, and police station registration letter. 

Qualification Criteria: Applicants must meet the requirements listed below in order to be eligible:

  • Qualifying Exam: Applicants must pass the HSC (10+2) or a test that is comparable from an approved board.
  • Minimum Score: 45% for General Category, 40% for Backward Class, including Muslim Class, 40% for MBC and DNC, and 40% for SC/ST/SCA candidates are required.
  • Subjects: Must pass with a minimum cumulative average in Chemistry, Physics, and Mathematics.
  • Additionally, a candidate must pass with a the minimum average score in related courses, including both practical and vocational theory.

Qualifications for the Marine Engineering Branch:

  • A candidate must receive at least a 60% average in PCM and pass the 10+2 or equivalent test in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, and English as distinct subjects.
  • For all candidates, a minimum of 50% in English in the tenth or twelfth grade is needed.
  • Prospective students should be aware that they must be medically fit before being chosen for the course.

Other Qualifications to Study Marine Engineering:

  • The maximum age to apply will be  25 years
  • A person must be 157 cm tall minimum.
  • 48 kilograms will be the minimum weight.
  • Normal colour vision.

TNEA  2024 Application Process

The Anna University will host the TNEA 2024 Admission Process each year.  TNEA 2024 application form will release on third week of June 2024, The last date for submission of application form will be fourth week of July 2024.

Applicants must fill out the application form by following these given steps-

  • Visit to the TNEA website.
  • On the "New Registration" button, click.
  • Candidates must submit their email address and mobile number during registration.
  • Upon registering, applicants must fill out the application by providing their name, contact information, educational background, and other facts.
  • Use a credit card, debit card, or other online payment method to pay the application fees.
  • Select "Save and Continue" from the menu.
  • Download the application form and PDF file will appear.

TNEA  2024 Admit card

The TNEA 2024 admit card won't be available because there won't be an entrance exam in 2024. There is a small difference in the admissions process; it is not an entrance exam. There is an online counseling process for undergraduate admission to a variety of engineering programs offered by Tamil Nadu colleges.

 

TNEA   2024 Rank List

In 3rd week of August 2024, the TNEA Rank List will be made public. With their login and registered email address, candidates can view the rank list. Candidates' qualifying exam scores will determine the order of merit. The marks candidates will secure in qualifying exam will be reduced to the basis of 200 marks (100 of Mathematics and 50 for Physics, and 50 Chemistry).

The authority will create the TNEA rank list using the normalization approach. Calls for the counseling process will be made to the candidates who made the merit list.

TNEA Cut-Off

Anna University will make the TNEA 2024 Cut Off available online. The minimum score required for candidates to be admitted into selective universities will be known as the "cut off mark." Those who meet the minimum score requirements will be admitted to a variety of professional programs offered by various universities.

TNEA cut off will be released in August 2024. The number of candidates that applied, the number of seats available, each candidate's performance in the qualifying exam, etc., will all be taken into consideration when determining the cut off. 

TNEA Counseling

For the general category, TNEA 2024 Counseling will begin the fourth week of August and last until the second week of October 2024. Applicants whose names are on the ranking list will be contacted to schedule a counseling session. The candidates will need to provide their user ID and password in order to log into the portal. Four rounds of counseling will be conducted, including choice filling, assignment, confirmation of assignment, and reporting to college.

The candidates will need to indicate their preferences for both college and branch. Following the completion of the preferences form, candidates must pay the counseling fee. During the counseling session, candidates must provide their original documents for verification.
