The IITs and ISM grant admission based on the results of JEE Advanced. The NITs, IIITs and other central or state-funded institutes grant admission based on JEE Main. Students are eligible to write JEE Advanced only if they clear the cut-off marks in JEE Main. Also, IIT JEE is considered as one of the toughest exams in the world.

JEE Advanced
The JEE Main exams can be sat for three consecutive years
Speed and accuracy is focused on in JEE Advanced exams
The JEE Main exams is on the same lines of the CBSE Class 11 and 12 Physics, Chemistry and Math syllabi
The JEE Advanced requires a few extra topics to be covered for the exam.
The JEE Mains exam comparatively doesn’t need in-depth knowledge
JEE Advanced questions, the candidates must have in-depth knowledge of the concepts and their applications

JEE Advanced is for those who would like to take admitted in various IITs and ISM Dhanbad.
The paper 1 of JEE Main has multiple-choice questions in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics
Paper 1 of JEE Advanced has objective-type questions in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.
A major difference lies in the cut-off for both exams. About 2.23 lakh students qualify JEE Main whereas about 35,000 students of qualify JEE Advanced.
