Established in 2001 with the goal of offering quality technical education and excellence in the ever-expanding horizon of the 21st-century technological revolution, Rajarshi Shahu College of Engineering is one of Pune's trademark institutions. The school is rising to prominence in Maharashtra's engineering education system. Jayawant Shikshan Prasarak Mandal Trust looks after and oversees it. The Institute is approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi and Govt. of Maharashtra affiliated to Savitribai Phule Pune University.
The institute offers one MBA program and one MCA program in addition to four postgraduate engineering programs (ME-Computer, ME-VLSI and Embedded System, ME-Structures, and ME-Design). SPPU has designated RSCOE as a "Ph.D. Research Center" for Mech, Civil, and E&TC. The National Board of Accreditation in New Delhi has granted three accreditations to all undergraduate programs. With a "A" grade from the NAAC, RSCOE is also accredited. The institute has received the “Best Professional College award (Urban Category)” by SPPU, Pune. The UGC Act's 2(f) and 12(b) categories also include the institute. The Institute has won the Platinum Category AICTE-CII Award for the past two years, 2017–18 and 2018–19.
