In 2003, the Gujarat National Law University (GNLU) was founded. One of the most prominent legal schools in the state, it is situated in Gandhinagar, the center of Gujarat. The Gujarat National Law University Act of 2003 granted the university recognition. The institution provides a range of undergraduate, graduate, and doctorate courses in the legal profession.
The Gujarat National Law University Act of 2003 established the Gujarat National Law University (GNLU), a statutory university. Both the University Grants Commission (UGC) and the Bar Council of India (BCI) recognized the university. In addition, the university is a member of the Shastri Indo-Canadian Institute, Asian Law Institute (ASLI), International Association of Law Schools (IALS), Association of Indian Universities (AIU), and United Nations Academic Impact (UNAI).
The Koba Village indigenous people are the traditional guardians of the land that the Gujarat National Law University, Gandhinagar is situated upon, and this university, along with its programs, honors and respects them. In particular, in its efforts to establish GNLU as a preeminent law university, the university honors the Koba Villagers and Elders, both past and present, and welcomes their culture, wisdom, and knowledge.
