Under the capable direction of Padmashree Dr D. Y. Patil, a well-known educationist, and philanthropist from Kolhapur, Maharashtra, and a former governor of Tripura, Bihar, and West Bengal, Dr Sushant Patil founded the Dr. D. Y. Patil College of Engineering and Innovation (DYPCOEI) in 2014. Being a member of the Dr. D. Y. Patil group is Dr. D. Y. Patil College of Engineering and Innovation. In India, Dr D Y Patil's group is the foremost provider of comprehensive education.
The Maharashtra government, the All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE) in New Delhi, and Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU) in Pune have all approved and recognized Dr. D. Y. Patil College of Engineering and Innovation. Four undergraduate programs are available through the institute: Computer Engineering (Intake 180), Artificial Intelligence-Data Science, Mechanical Engineering, and Civil Engineering

Passed HSC or its equivalent examination with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with one of the Chemistry or Biotechnology or Biology or Technical or Vocational subjects, and obtained at least 50% marks (at least 45% marks, in case of Backward class categories and Persons with Disability candidates belonging to Maharashtra State only) in the above subjects taken together; and Obtained score in MHT-CET.
Dr. D.Y. Patil College of Engineering and Innovation features modern facilities aimed at enhancing student learning experiences and outcomes. Noteworthy infrastructure includes:
Computer Center- More than 100 computers are provided in a state-of-the-art computer center. Students must present an identity card to use computers. The computer center is equipped with computers, printers (including color printers), CD writers, and internet access.
Canteen- The school has a large, well-equipped canteen facility. A well-thought-out dinner is provided in neat, clean, and hygienic surroundings. The prices of each item are reasonable. Staff workers and students can also utilize the monthly meal program.
Library- In 2014, the Dr. D.Y. Patil College of Engineering and Innovation, Varale Library was founded. Since then, the library's collection of books, magazines, CDs, electronic resources, services, and infrastructure have all improved steadily. The library currently has a greater selection of books, journals, magazines, and newspapers. Additionally, the internet facility is connected to the library.
