An AICTE-approved private university founded in 2006, the Institute of Management Study (IMS) Kolkata is affiliated to Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology (MAKAUT). IMS is a constituent unit of Lake Gardens Saha Education Society.  The institute provides courses for undergraduates, graduate students, and doctorates in computer application, science, management, and commerce. In addition, the institute provides undergraduate and graduate degree programs with Humanities, Hospitality Management, Healthcare, and Media Science specializations. While CAT, MAT, and JEMAT entrance scores are required for MBA admission, the MAKAUT CET is the basis for admission to IMS's undergraduate programs.

Library- The library is completely stocked with management and computer application textbooks, journals, magazines, and other materials.

Campus Building- The campus consists of eight Cotta land with five stories of 22,000 square feet of building. Every classroom, common area, canteen, etc., has sufficient natural light and air circulation combined with artificial lighting and fans for optimal ventilation. There is a manually operated elevator in the institute as well.
