The opportunity:

The position of Sr Software Engineer is an experienced role who would work closely with other members of the team and other functional groups within OpenText as a whole, the role demands technical expertise in developing software, handle production issues and complex inquiries for customers along with special projects as assigned.

You are great at:

? Work on software development projects as assigned which Involves in development and unit testing of the software modules and deliver defect free solutions or products
? Provide basic to intermediate technical production/applications support and assistance for GXS customers who use a cross section of OpenText applications.
? Independently gathering information, pose workarounds, carry out necessary research, and provide an in-depth analysis to resolve development/production/application issues, customer requests and inquiries, escalating to a lead or manager when appropriate
? Provide on-call support [24x7] for high priority critical problems, when situation demands

What it takes:

? 7+ Years of experience. An Engineering Graduate.
? DB development experience on Sybase/SQL Server
? DB Debugging, performance tuning, optimization
? PL/SQL, Stored procedure, trigger writing experience.
? Ability to debug complex database issues.
? Extensive experience in UNIX/Linux as OS.
? Excellent knowledge of C++/C on Unix/Linux Platform.
? Experience of writing shell-scripts (ksh, csh etc) on Unix/Linux.
? Experience in Perl Scripting on Unix/Linux.
? Some knowledge of XML/JSON
