Candidates age should be 18- 40 years for Govt. Service, 18 to 42 years for Physically Challenged, 18 to 43 years for RBA/SC/ST/ALC/SLC, 18 to 48 years for Ex-serviceman candidates as on 01-01-2017.
Candidates should possess MBBS or Possession of recognized Graduation Medical qualification included in the first or second schedule or part-II of the 3rd Scheduled to the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956.
Based on Written Exam, Oral test, and Interview.

About JKPSC: 
Till the end of the year 1954 there was no formal selecting association in the state of Jammu and Kashmir.A Public Service Recruitment Board was set up on December 31, 1954.Subsequently with the coming into force of the Constitution of Jammu and Kashmir State on 26th of January 1957, Jammu and Kashmir Public Service Commission was set up, under zone 128 of the Constitution of J&K, on September 2, 1957, with Major General Yadev Nath Singh PVC, as it is first Chairman.All regulations made under the stipulation to sub-portion by the Governor may be laid for no less than fourteen days before each House of the Legislature as fast as time grants after they are made, and ought to be subjected to such changes, whether by strategy for cancellation or revision, as the Legislative Assembly may make in the midst of the session in which they are so laid.
